WWE Allied Powers- The World's Greatest Tag Teams

On July 14th, 2009 the WWE will release another great DVD into their lineup: Allied Powers- The Worlds Greatest Tag Teams. This DVD will take you back to a time where tag teams meant something and were entertaining to watch. The superstars paired up in this DVD complemented each other creating dominate forces.

Maybe Tag Team aren't forgotten

In a move that shocked many last night, Teddy Long entered Chis Jericho and Edge into the Unified Tag Team Championship last night resulting in the pair winning the titles. With big names like this maybe the Tag Team era is on a comeback. The titles have been changing hands on Smackdown and RAW but last night's move may bring it back to PPV status.

Teddy's move to impress Vince

Since last week Teddy Long the GM of Smackdown was put on probation with the orders that he better deliver a stellar performance for The Bash PPV. During the PPV Vince McMahon confronted Teddy Long about the comment he made about being the longest running GM in Smackdown history. With that, McMahon told Teddy that he hasn't been impressed with his performance and better make some changes to shake things up. So what did Teddy do? During the Unified Tag Team Champions he shocked everyone by making it a 3 way Tag Team match bringing in Edge and Chris Jericho. This was a great move as he brought two of the best heels in Smackdown together. The two heel's went on the win the Unified titles.

So what else does the GM have in store for Vince to show him why he has been the longest running GM in Smackdown history. We'll just have to wait and see this week on Smackdown.

What happened to tag teams?

2008 was supposed to be the year of the tag teams bringing the good ol' days back but things didn't go as we all expected. Where are good tag teams today in the WWE? We had a good thing going with Miz and Morrison for a little bit. I'm not saying that The Miz is a great wrestler but we had Morrison for that. The Miz brought a lot of comedic comments and actions into the mix making them a good duo. In 2009, the duo broke up and it seems that The Miz is taking more of the spotlight in RAW giving him a lot of air time. Morrison, while he is still active seems to have fell off the radar on Smackdown.

So who are we left with? Primo and Carlito? Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase? What happened to the days of Demolition, Road Warriors, The Hart Foundation, The Rockers, DX, Killer Bee's and so on...

Is the WWE eliminating these long lived duos? All actions point to yes...
